Acrylic
It was the start of Britain's second lockdown, which started just after Christmas. My wife encouraged me to take up painting in acrylic, so she bought me the paints to get started after the New Year.
Not only did painting keep me occupied through the lockdown, but it has also become an important part of my routine, which helps with my sanity. In reflection, without this hobby, I would struggle to manage my day-to-day life.
So, here goes another episode of my post-stroke life as a budding artist.

Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most recognised Scottish castles, located on a small island surrounded by Loch Alsh, Loch Duich, and Loch Long. It was the stronghold of the Mackenzie and Macrae clans and dates back to the 13th century. After being destroyed in the 17th century, it was rebuilt in the 20th century and is now connected to the mainland by a stone footbridge. The castle has appeared in films like Highlander and James Bond – The World is Not Enough, making it a popular subject in photographs and other visual media.
